14 music bands have prepared a unique show for the audience of The Spirit of Astana
The international project The Spirit of Tengri, born on the Kazakhstan land and already having the status of a national cultural brand, will be presented for the first time in the Capital city thanks to Akimat of Astana. The Spirit of Astana 2017 will be held on June 23-24 in the square in front of the Baiterek monument, Tengrinews.kz reports.
"Our Spirit of Tengri festival is five this year, and we can feel it has become a state project, so it is symbolic that we are celebrating this date in Astana, at last we have reached the capital and prepared a special program together with Akimat of Astana. On the same days EXPO-2017 will be held where a huge number of guests are expected, I am sure they will be excited about the festival, "- said Zhan Kasteev the general producer of the festival" The Spirit of Tengri "and the radio stations Zhuldyz FM and Tengri FM.
“The Spirit of Astana will present a unique line-up of musicians, which the organizers specially prepared for the audience in the capital. "There will be our "old guys "who have performed at The Spirit of Tengri in Almaty, but with new programs as well as bands that will come to Kazakhstan for the first time. The program is exciting and powerful. I think the capital will welcome our work," - added Kasteev.
The main difference between The Spirit of Astana lies in the fact that this year the capital will see not only the artists who have been loved by Almaty audience for the years of The Spirit of Tengri, but also outstanding musicians who will come to the festival of modern ethnic music for the first time. For example, the festival audience will be pleased with the Tuareg band Tamikrest, who will come to Kazakhstan for the first time. The band from West Africa was founded in 2006 and became famous thanks to the synthesis of traditional African music with western rock and pop styles.
In total, 14 music bands will demonstrate their art on the stage of the festival: Geo Train (Georgia); DJ Carmen Rizzo (USA); Huun Huur Tu (Tuva); Namgar (Buryatia); Ljubojna (Macedonia); Motiva Zenekar (Hungary); Argymak (Bashkortostan); Inna Zhelannaya (Russia); Tamikrest (Mali); Steppe Scape (Tuva / Buryatia / Germany); Edil Khussainov and Satzhan Project (Kazakhstan); "Almaty Drums" (Kazakhstan); Tigrahaud (Kazakhstan): DJ Nariman Issenov, DJ Roman Bazhanov, DJ Rustam Ospanov, DJ Arsen SuperFly (Kazakhstan).
The Spirit of Astana festival will be held on June 23 and 24 in the square in front of the Baiterek monument. The concerts start at 5 pm, admission is free. The scene will be arranged in such a way that the concert will be seen from any point of the square. At the same there will be large LED screens installed on the sides of the stage, so that the audience could not miss a single element of the upcoming show.
“Together with the Akimat of Astana we have intentionally chosen the square in front of the Baiterek monument because the complex itself is very interesting, it has a special atmosphere that attracts visitors and residents of the capital. Together with the amazing light, sound and stage we provide, the show The Spirit of Astana will be a memorable one. Each band, performing at The Spirit of Astana, is a huge cultural layer of their people. Certainly, they are the great masters of their craft. This is especially pleasant that artists of such level perform on the show with free entry, open to everybody, "- says Sergey Maiboroda the chief director of the festival The Spirit Tengri. The festival will be held with the support of Akimat of Astana. The general partner of the project supermarket chain Magnum Cash & Carry.
On May 20 and 21, the fifth, anniversary festival of ethnic culture The Spirit of Tengri was held under the sky of Almaty. The festival of music united under its roof hundreds of ethno-bands from more than 30 countries and regions of the world. The Spirit of Tengri Festival is a multicultural project aimed at demonstrating the ethnic traditions of the countries of the world on the Kazakh land. The project is established by the national radio station Tengri FM.
