Terrific debut. The Spirit of Astana has been held in the capital
The festival of contemporary ethnic music The Spirit of Astana, which the capital of Kazakhstan has hosted for the first time, has finished, Tengrinews.kz reports. The largest music event took place in the open-air format in the square in front of the Baiterek monument, the entrance is free. The project was established by the national radio station Tengri FM with the support of the Astana Akimat.
The Tamikrest band from Mali wrapped up the festival The Spirit of Astana. The musicians from Africa fascinated the capital's audience with melodic guitar riffs.
Tamikrest band was founded in 2006 and became famous thanks to the synthesis of traditional African music with western rock and pop styles. In the bands's work, besides vocal, electric guitars, bass guitar and percussion, the djembe and other traditional types of percussion are widely used. Now the musicians are on a world tour with their new album "Kidal".
"Our music unites completely different parts of the world, we gather various details, sounds, we are very happy to be here, the festival brought together many good artists, it was great to be a part of this atmosphere.The audience was good," – the members of Tamikrest shared their impressions
The festival was also visited by the Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan Marat Beketayev. He told why such events are important for the life of the country. "I really liked the festival, it seems to me that such events are very important for the development of the cultural life of the capital and the country as a whole, especially for young people, because such events broaden their horizons. Not everyone has the opportunity to go and see other countries. It is very good that foreign artists come here, they can tell about from other stages," - the Minister of Justice shared his thoughts.
The international project The Spirit of Tengri, born on Kazakhstani land and already having the status of a national cultural brand, was first presented in the capital.
In total, 14 music groups will perform their music on the stage of the festival: Geo Train (Georgia); DJ Carmen Rizzo (USA); Huun Huur Tu (Tuva); Namgar (Buryatia); Ljubojna (Macedonia); Motiva Zenekar (Hungary); Argymak (Bashkortostan); Inna Zhelannaya (Russia); Tamikrest (Mali); Steppe Scape (Tuva / Buryatia / Germany); Edil Khussainov and Satzhan Project (Kazakhstan); Almaty drums (Kazakhstan); Tigrahaud (Kazakhstan): DJ Nariman Issenov, DJ Roman Bazhanov, DJ Rustam Ospanov, DJ Arsen SuperFly (Kazakhstan). With the support of Tez Tour, international tour operator.
The stage is arranged in such a way that the concert will be seen from any point of the square. At the same there will be large LED screens installed on the sides of the stage, so that the audience could not miss a single element of the upcoming show. The admission is free.
On May 20 and 21, the fifth, anniversary festival of ethnic culture The Spirit of Tengri was held under the sky of Almaty. The festival of music united under its roof hundreds of ethno-bands from more than 30 countries and regions of the world. The Spirit of Tengri Festival is a multicultural project aimed at demonstrating the ethnic traditions of the countries of the world on the Kazakh land. The project is established by the national radio station Tengri FM. For the first time at the Anniversary Festival The Spirit of Tengri in Almaty was held with the support of the Israel Embassy in Kazakhstan.
