The ethno-festival is hosted by is Zhassulan Kali, the radio host and program director of Zhuldyz FM.
"The structure of the stage is unique. In addition to the traditional set towards the audience, we have installed an additional screen in the amphitheater, the sound towards the Esil. In fact, the concert can be observed from all sides: and being on the site, and just strolling along the embankment. given the volume of light and sound that we put on our projects, the action will be visible even from the other side of the river," Sergey Maiboroda, the chief director of the Nomad Way Festival, shared.
Yesterday, Bashkir band Argymak was on air at "Astana FM" radio station.
"Last year was very busy. We spent a lot of time travelling around the world, Russia, and inside the republic. We have completely updated our program and came here with an absolutely new show program with new genres and directions. There are going to be all modern genres with elements of Bashkir folk music. Surely, we have brought a good mood, too. We are waiting for all Astana citizens! We are going to rock it! Any state is made by people, and the people are its cultural traditions. Saving these cultural traditions is the preservation of the state itself. For us, Nomad Way is a wonderful festival. It is meeting a huge number of old friends, and new people, these are new projects and roads to other stages, going to other festivals through these contacts. The Moscow Bashkirs are also coming to the Nomad Way - the guys who studied and lived there, have also made in a band. We are talking about Zaman band, " the founder and art director of the band Rinat Ramazanov shared.
Sound producer, percussionist, vocalist of "Argymak" project Radmir Ismagilov added: "First of all, we are waiting for the people who have already heard us, as well as new viewers and listeners. We are actively promoting our band online by setting geolocation - Kazakhstan, Astana, Almaty. "
Also, we had a chance to talk with Namgar Lhasaranova, the singer of the Buryat group Namgar: "We are a band from Buryatia, we play Buryat and Mongolian traditional folk music. I play the instrument called yataga, in Kazakhstan it is called zhatagan. A similar music instrument exists in many Asian countries: Korea, Japan, China. It took me 4 years to learn to play it, I've been playing it since 1987. I've been practicing it with large breaks - we had had a musician who also played it. We just started preparing for the new album. We have three or four new songs which we still have not performed anywhere. Our program includes both purely acoustic works - traditional songs, and a little fusion, ethno-rock.
Last year we were in Astana for the first time. We really liked the audience's warm welcome. Your audience is very musical and friendly. We really enjoyed the show. We are looking forward to meeting on this exciting open-air stage. Such a scale of music festivals, when there are so many performers from all over the world, is a training for all musicians without exception. We listen to each other, we learn, we communicate, we discover new things. This is a rare phenomenon in Asia. It's great that in Astana you make such festivals - it's a huge gift to the residents of the capital. Folk music is known and loved around the whole planet, it reveals a deep connection with our ancestors. At such festivals people wake up inside. We must do them every year, " Namgar said.
