Nomad Way 2018. How went Day 1 of the grandiose Festival

"I think this is easy to notice not only by us, but also to the audience who come to the Festival and the musicians. The Festival cannot take place without them, it is very important for us that the performers had an international professional bar, an international stage where they could hone their skills and share their art with the audience.
"The festival has made the path abroad; we already have an excellent opportunity to represent Kazakhstani musicians there. (...) Every musician has their own twist and great creative potential. I cannot choose who my favorite is, they all are. Our viewer is so sophisticated, for all these years there have been so many festivals, concerts, events, and the audience's expectations are really high. This is good because it allows show business to grow in our country and develop the potential and creativity of our artists," Madina Umorbekova said.
The executive producer of the Festival noted that for three days of the Festival the audience will greatly enjoy a live, beautiful sound, as well as the vibe shared by the musicians.
"Everyone will bring their culture and country with them, they represent the whole history, depth, the culture. We must expand our horizons and our perception in every possible way, which is very important, "Madina Umorbekova stressed.
20.09 A singer of Kyrgyzstan Gulzada, who has been participating in the Nomad Way for the second year in a row, has come up on the stage.
According to the singer, it took her a long time to choose a song from the Kazakh folklore for the Festival, and finally she stopped at "Dudaray". "The song about love is very emotional and deep. I immediately fell in love with it," Kyrgyz singer Gulzada Ryskulova said.
For her performance of folk songs, talented Gulzada Ryskulova easily adapts rock, jazz and electronics.

18.24 Fiery ethno-jazz tunes played on the Nomad Way stage in the center of the capital. The stage meets Avesto band from Tajikistan.
This is an outstanding group, which has managed to release six albums for 17 years of its music activity. At the festival in Astana the band will once again please the audience with Tajik melodies. In their music, they combine modern jazz and oriental music culture.
17.53. The Festival was opened by Kazakhstan's ethno-rock band Aldaspan. This is a unique project who play the electro-dombra. The members of the band Aldaspan are the best dombra players in the music academy: Maksat Khasanov - electro solo-dombra, Isarbek Akiyashev - electro-rhythm-dombra, Shamshiddin Omarov - electro bass dombra and Nurzhan Toishy, the band's founder - the drums. The group has been taking part in The Spirit of Tengri Festival every year since 2013.
17.40 General producer of Festivals The Spirit of Tengri and Nomad Way Zhan Kasteev said that today on the stage there will be six groups performing.
"Each band is unique. Everything has been organised according to the countries who sit along the Silk Road. All of them are neighbours and friends to each other, and have the same language policy. Our groups also represent nomadic cultures. All of these musicians have participates in The Spirit of Tengri Festival. The Nomad Way is more specific and hopefully will last for a long time. This event is a kind of cultural kurultai. We have updated the line-up compared to last year. The event is held in the very center of Astana.
Any music is a rhythm. Anyone who listens to ethnic music get its energy. All world music is built on ethnic music. Here ethnic music has become pop. Today and all the three days you will see how the audience will be in the same rhythm along with our performers. This is a family holiday, a family event, so the age does not matter, "- general producer of the Festival shared.
17.23 The International Music Festival of Nomadic Culture Nomad Way 2018 opens in Astana. The first participants from 20 countries of the world are making final preparation before the start of the grandiose three-day show.

The Spirit of Tengri is a multicultural and one of the world's largest projects in the genre of contemporary ethnic music, with a status of a national cultural brand. Its purpose is to introduce the heritage of the peoples of the Great Steppe and the whole world, uniting the most iconic representatives of contemporary ethnic musical art on the Kazakhstani land. The project was established by the National Kazakhstan Radio Tengri FM in 2012. Musicians from 70 countries and regions of the world have been on its stage. Over these years, more than 100 thousand Kazakhstanis and guests of the country have been its visitors. The Spirit of Tengri festivals are bright colorful music shows accompanied by informational art materials and video content. Thus, they are not only entertaining but also educational.
