Chyltys Tannagasheva is a singer famous for her guttural singing both in Russia and abroad. Her ethnic improvisations and embroidered fork tunes are highly appreciated by armatures and professionals alike, as her multiple awards from international festivals testify. Chyltys is a fifth-generation shaman. She uses her music to affirm the philosophy of her ancestors, communicate with Spirits of the Earth, Water and Sky. Her captivating voice and energy leave no listener indifferent.
Chyltys was born and spent her childhood in Kurya village near the Mrassu River. Her great grandfather knew the taiga woods as the back of his hand and told stories about cedars speaking Shor language at night. Raised on tales and stories of her mysterious homeland, Chyltys led an ordinary life till the age of 24. Then her life was divided into “before” and “after” by a car accident. She experienced clinical death. After that Chyltys discovered a talent for throat singing.
